A computer animator by trade, Canadian artist Zoey Zoric began painting with oils in 2012. She started creating still life paintings, which eventually evolved into pet portrait commissions as well as figurative work and human expression.

In each still life painting, she aims to convey untold stories about inanimate objects, offering a mindful perspective of ordinary moments. These pieces illustrate the human need for physical experiences in a world dominated by digital experiences, and speak to Zoey’s own transition from digital to tactile art.

Her style can best be described as loose realism, with deliberate elements of detail. Each piece carries a different ambiance, achieved through purposeful consideration of lighting, color, and value.

Zoey’s work has been showcased at a number of exhibits over the past couple of years, and she continues to be commissioned for pet portrait pieces.

Zoey is a fan of our Redline™ Series 6700, noting that it’s “a real game changer for varnishing!” She continues, “I LOVE IT! Love the 2 tone bristles – perfect for seeing the odd shedded bristle, regardless of the value of painted surface it is on (the dark part of the brush hair standing out against light painted areas & the light part of the brush hair standing out against the dark painted areas). I LOVE this. The brush provides smooth & even distribution of varnish, with very easy clean up.”
