Years ago, synthetics were the less expensive more affordable alternative to natural hair brushes. Synthetics did not have the color carrying capacity of natural hair. The first man made fibers did not have an abraded texture like natural hair so paint could not adhere. The result, paint did not flow evenly, it ran. More paint initially was released, not always the desired performance.
Times have changed and technology has evolved. Recently, I was at an art show. A well known portrait artist and I were discussing brushes…what else? When I suggested he try our new Neptune™ brush he said his preference was natural squirrel. Long story made short, he could not believe that Neptune™ was one hundred percent synthetic squirrel.
Princeton has developed what we call NextGen Brushes. Brushes that are more durable, more affordable and most importantly perform like natural hair brushes.
